“But if I talk about it… won’t it make things worse?”
I hear this fear all the time — and it’s valid. When you’ve spent years avoiding pain just to survive, the idea of facing it can feel overwhelming.
But let’s be clear:
🚫 Talking about trauma doesn’t make it worse.
💭 What actually keeps us stuck is avoiding it — pushing it down, pretending it didn’t matter, carrying it alone.
🧠 Our nervous systems remember what our minds try to forget.
Unprocessed trauma can show up as anxiety, irritability, perfectionism, numbness, people-pleasing, or a constant feeling of being “on edge.”
Talking about it — in a safe, supportive, regulated space — isn’t about reliving the pain. It’s about reclaiming your story, integrating what happened, and letting your body finally breathe.
🫶 Healing doesn’t mean forgetting.
It means what happened no longer controls you.
And that freedom? You deserve it.
You are not weak. You are not broken.
🌱 You’re being human.
💪🏾You’re being brave.
You’re doing work that generations before you never got to do.
There is no shame in your story — only strength in your healing. 🕊️

Why did I become a therapist?????
Because the world doesn’t need more silence 🤐, shame 😶, or “just get over it” energy 🙄.
Also? I’ve seen what happens when people don’t heal… and yikes 😬.
These 4 reasons are my “hell yes” 🙌 to holding space 🛋️, breaking cycles 🔁, and proving the doubters wrong 💥.
It’s all right here. See what pushed me into the therapy chair—on this side of it 😉
